4 Easy Ways to Save Money on Things You Buy Everyday and Things You Didn’t Know You Needed!

Here are some simple steps you should take before making your next purchase online or off. Usually these few extra minutes of your time can save you quite a bit of money.

1) Use Daily Deal Sites
Daily deal sites like Groupon, LivingSocial, Gilt City are great places to routinely get half off or more on all sorts of products and services. You can save money at local restaurants, photography studios, dentists, hair salons, etc…, plus purchase products online like jewelry, apparel, golf balls, photos books, etc…, as well as save money on vacation packages. The variety of products and services is almost endless. The only problem with daily deal sites is you are limited to purchase only what they are offering that day, but if you like what they are selling you can save a ton of money.

2) Do a Quick Comparison Shop Search

BestBuy.com Deal of the Day

Before I make an online purchase, as well as lots of offline purchases… I like to do a quick Google search to find the best price. There is SO MUCH COMPETITION out there for your shopping dollars that you can find a huge variance in prices from merchant to merchant.

Just hop over to Google and when doing a search for whatever you are looking for… click the “Shopping” search link and you will see TONS of different prices and places to purchase your product. You can also just go straight here to do the search: http://www.google.com/shopping. One thing to note is that the cheapest price is not always the best deal. You will want to check out shipping costs, as well as the company’s reputation before you spend your hard earned dollars as some companies are better than others.

3) Do a Google Search for Coupon Codes
You will be amazed how many times this simple trick will save you money. If you have purchased much stuff online you might have noticed that when you are getting ready to pay for the product and are in the “Shopping Cart” section that many times you will see a box that says something like, “Enter Coupon Code”. I know I have, and I used to wonder where you get those codes. All you do is perform a quick Google Search for them. Just type in the name of the merchant and the words “coupon codes” and click search. You will usually get a bunch of results with lots of sites displaying many different codes. You will need to sift through the different coupons to see if they can save you money on your particular purchase, but I have found that a large percentage of the time it does. The cool thing is you can find coupon codes for purchases like registering a domain at GoDaddy.com to buying a washer and dryer set at Sears.com.

4) Purchase Daily Deal Offerings
Not only can you find coupon codes for saving money on merchant websites, but many of those sites also offer Daily Deals. Unlike Daily Deals sites which offer many daily deals, these large merchants offer one great deal each day. We get emails each day from sites we have signed up for their Daily Deal offers. My husband is always buying electronic stuff from daily deals he gets from BestBuy.com and TigerDirect.com.
